Millstättersee
Millstättersee

The administrative centre of the north-western part of Carinthia is Spittal an der Drau.

This is where the Porcia Castle stands, one of Austria’s most beautiful Renaissance buildings. The Millstättersee is 12 km long, 2 km wide, and dips down to 142 m at its deepest point. The climate is considered to have therapeutic properties and it is an international recreational and cultural centre, with a wide variety of activities and attractions: a Benedictine abbey, thousand-year old linden trees, body painting, etc.
